State Caucuses
A caucus by definition is a group within a legislative body seeking to represent a specific interest. In the case of state sportsmen’s caucuses, both Democrat and Republican legislators unite to work together to represent the interests of their hunting and fishing constituency, providing an identified group of allies that can quickly be called into action.
Currently, there are 28 state sportsmen’s caucuses with a membership of approximately 2,500 state legislators.
Under the NASC umbrella, these legislators are working together, sharing information, duplicating pro-sportsmen’s legislation from one state to the next and being on the lookout for anti-sportsmen’s efforts in one state that might appear in another. By having an identified group of allies in state legislatures fighting to promote and protect your outdoor heritage and joined together in a network by the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses, you can rest assured that your interests are being guarded.
